Looking to help a friend in a bind. They work for a big box store and have an issue with a supervisor who insults and accuses them frequently, and blows up when they're proven wrong.
I suggested sending a written communication to the person explaining the effect the behaviour is having on their productivity and ability to complete their job, so that when it doesn't work and they have to go to HR, they have a paper trail showing they tried to resolve it reasonably.
Problem is, employees here have no emails, don't text, and have no employee mailboxes. The insults and accusations come over a company earpiece. To speak with HR, they have to physically knock on the door and speak with them.
Does anyone have advice for how this person can address this conflict in a way that ensures their ass is covered if the supervisor decides to lie, twist the narrative, etc? Is there a way to make a paper trail exist in this scenario?
Thanks in advance!
