Should employers pay for employee’s commute time?

Let’s say, the store needs to be opened at 6AM sharp. I am schedule to be there from 5:00AM-2:00PM (1 hour break). I leave home at 4:30AM and arrive at the store around 4:55AM (25 commute + 5 minute early = 30 minute of unpaid time) I leave work at 2:00 sharp and arrive home at 2:30 (30 minute unpaid time). In total, I waste 1 hour each day, 5 days/week. That equals to 20 hours/month of MY FREE time to get to THEIR work place. Thoughts?
