Cezar Chavez fought for better rights for workers, and showed the nation what striking could do. The process of striking gave many farms workers better bargaining power for better wages, better benefits, and better working conditions.
Today, workers have the same potential for gaining bargaining power through the process of striking. But, it takes unity. It takes organization.
On March 31, 2022, we celebrate the Federal Holiday of a Labor Rights leader, Cesar Chavez. But, this time, in this moment, one day is not enough. We strike for better wages, better working conditions and fair treatment of all workers. We strike for social change, and because we hold the bargaining power together.
