Company makes everyone part-time to take away benefits, then makes us work overtime

I work in a casino. Owners/Management switched a couple years ago and now we are seeing a lot of change for the negative. The highlight of this is as described in the title. The dealers(the most staffed position) were all forced to go from 5 days/8 hours to 4 days/6 hours. This is my speculation but I imagine this was only done for the purpose of not having to pay benefits for any of these employees. So everyone lost their health benefits and yet the casino has now made most of the staff switch back to 5 days a week. They are only scheduled 6 hours a day but for many shifts they end up working 10+ hours everyday. The dealers are still 'part time' with no benefits yet working 50+ hours a week. Is this legal at all? It just feels so wrong. Full disclosure: I only started working…

Full disclosure: I only started working there as they implemented the shorter work schedule so I came in expecting it and actually really enjoyed only working 4 days. And I've had lucky shifts that only experience 7-8 hour workdays so it doesn't affect me too much. But it feels so unfair for the older employees, many who have been there 15-20 years or even more.
