Today I found out the new person isn’t being paid

My work place has been steadily getting worse and it's just frustrating. The manager is shit at her job and is constantly fucking up and doing things without asking staff, and refusing to deal with issues. Hell, she didn't even tell me what my job would entail exactly and it took me 5 shifts before I finally figured out I was hired purely to do the tills for 5+ hours straight. Changing or adding shifts to the roster without a word for example. Our roster is pretty fixed across the full timers and part timers, and the changes to hours that are there are the alternating hours each week. She fucked up our pay twice in a row by not paying our penalty rates (over Xmas, boxing day and new years too so it was the big $$ for penalty rates) and it took badgering her constantly about it and…

She fucked up our pay twice in a row by not paying our penalty rates (over Xmas, boxing day and new years too so it was the big $$ for penalty rates) and it took badgering her constantly about it and doing the maths ourselves after she told us to for her to finally “do something” (ie, fob it off onto the only person who does her job for her and then not tell her we'd already done the maths so the poor person had to do even more to correct pay)

This manager also displays personal information for everyone to see and will “tease” people. One of the people who quit told me that she had once been required to give a medical certificate and the manager displayed it for everyone to see because it had been left on her desk in the far corner. And that was how most of the staff found out she'd had to have an abortion.

Recently, around 10+ people quit the location. (A few more are planning to leave soon or at the end if the year that I know of) Around 2 or 3 had legit unrelated reasons, as they graduated and went on to get jobs in their studied careers. This means we were even more understaffed and new people were hired.

We have always been chronically understaffed on weekends and night shift, because the manager seems incapable of realising despite being told we need more people that having so few people on not only makes it difficult to do the job, but if someone calls off sick then you can end up stuck completely by yourself on tills or with only 2 people not in dispensary (one on tills, one on floor). Problem also is, that half the new people are barely on the shifts they actually need to be on and once again day shift has fucking everyone on. It's a bloody mass exodus when it hits 5pm and literally 12 people clock off, leaving 5 or 6 for the next 2 hours, then only 3 until close if we're lucky.

The first 2 newbies were told some things and the rest of their “training” ended up coming from us as we seemed to be the only ones willing to explain the job and how to do it to them. They're fine and do their job pretty good. Then a few more people got hired and they were told almost nothing. One of them didn't have a staff card for over a month and couldn't do tills, and no one told them basic procedures for how we do stock etc. It ended up being the 2 “older” staff (me and one other) and one of the first new people to mostly tell them stuff they needed to know, usually when we noticed they didn't seem to know x thing. Two of them still barely know how to do tills due to lack of training despite us trying to explain, because they aren't given any time to actually get used to it and they've been here for at least a few weeks.

Newest hire isn't even fucking on the system yet apparently. For some fucking reason, she's being told to work shifts she can't clock on and off for and she's been here over 3 weeks and hasn't been paid once. (Our pay is fortnightly, she started in the 2nd week so she's missed 2 pay periods). One of my other coworkers, when they were hired a couple years ago, weren't allowed to work in the store for 5 weeks because they hadn't gone through on the system yet. Yet somehow, this poor girl is doing unpaid labour, at least 8 hour shifts every time and she's not seeing a single cent. I hope to everything she keeps a detailed timesheet of all the hours she's worked, because I know 100% her pay is going to be fucked around, and they'll likely give it all at once which would put her in a higher tax bracket meaning paying more tax.

I'm so sick if this place and its useless fucking manager. I want to report her but I don't know how. I honestly wish she (the new girl) would just stop coming in, despite us needing the staff, until she's on the sytem and gets her pay. I don't know her very well, but I don't want to see someone else get fucked over by this stupid managers incompetents.
