How can I gauge and help with local interest in labor organizing as someone who works basically office life in an area where local orgs are doing nothing?

Hi, The current nationwide momentum for labor rights is, basically, being 100% overlooked in my area. There is truly nothing happening to support workers in general, much less support any potential organizing. It is driving me absolutely up a wall. I am a young engineer with a couple direct reports that were given to me as part of the job deal. I fully realize I do not have the experiences or risks of an hourly worker. Although I do a decent job sticking up for my team and hourly workers in my facility, I realize my formal work position is pretty antithetical to organizing (and don't worry I'm trying to change that lol). Hi,

The current nationwide momentum for labor rights is, basically, being 100% overlooked in my area.

However…

Something has to give in my area, and if it has to be me doing it then that is totally cool with me. Of course, I do not believe in organizing FOR anyone – that has to happen internally. But I believe there is opportunity to gauge interest and get people connected with local union assistance as needed.

How can I best help local individuals who may want to unionize but don't know where to start? How do I fix the gap even though I don't work at a Starbucks or similar workplace?

Thank you for any input!
