Gun behind the bar

I showed up for a job interview at a wine bar in a bougie part of town. The owner and I chatted for a few mins. Before I even sat down, she started giving me a tour and training. Seems she didn’t feel the need to interview me because I am a mature Army vet. She opened a drawer behind the bar and showed me a loaded, unsecured handgun that I should use “if there’s any trouble”. (Um… I will not be shooting anyone to protect the $200 in the till or a case of wine.) The drawer was one meter away from the bar top, right next to the walkway where anyone could easily grab it without detection since the 1-2 employees are usually busy in the dining area. I was not surprised when it went missing. She replaced it with one of the ones from her car. Tried…

Tried telling her maybe she should take ALL of the firearms from her vehicle and purse since she drove home most days after drinking two bottles of champagne. Didn’t think she’d enjoy getting a felony and ruining her dreams of elected public office. But what do I know? SMH
