How the fuck are we supposed to overcome experience gaps when no one will hire someone without prior experience in that role?

Example: It’s bloody impossible to go from a retail general management position to a retail district manager position without 1-3 years experience as a district manager. How the fuck does that make sense? You’re telling me I can manage 1 retail store, but managing 3-4 managers of multiple retail stores is beyond me? Even though it has far less moving parts each day? How the fuck is ANYONE supposed to make that jump if everyone’s job posting has a 1-3 years experience requirement and you’re not hiring anyone without it? Eventually through attrition you’ll just run out of fucking district managers through death, retirement, and people leaving the industry. And it’s the same with pretty much every fucking industry. Good luck going from junior dev to senior dev without 1-3 years senior dev experience. Good luck going from shift supervisor to General Manager without 1-3 years GM experience. Good luck…

Like what the fuck? How is anyone supposed to make fucking progression? Go to the hiring managers house and suck them off and give them cash?
