School can’t find substitute teachers to work for $90 a day

My old high school principal reached out to me to ask if I would substitute teach for the French teacher. She said “we pay 90 dollars a day!” as if it was something to brag about. She also mentioned how much they've been struggling to find subs. I just finished my first year of university, and I already have an internship that advances my career/skills and that pays nearly double this. I wonder why they can't find people to spend 7 am to 3pm with high schoolers for $11.25/hr. It must be because of that lazy younger generation!
