I had the opening shift at work today and was supposed to be off at 5pm. My boss then asks if I can stay a couple more hours to help cover the worst of the rush, and like that’s fine, more money you know.
What he didn’t tell me, is that he had no intentions of coming back to help, and the girl who was supposed to come in at 5 didn’t show, which I later learned was because “she had a birthday party to go to the next day”???????? WHAT KIND OF REASON IS THAT FOR CALLING OUT OF WORK???? And why did my boss accept it????!
So I am alone during the evening rush, with a guy who barely knows how to make all the food on our menu, it’s the summer vacation so everyone is getting takeout currently and I’m fucked.
Then comes the cherry on top, earlier in the week my boss had talked to someone about a huge order for tonight, but completely forgot to tell anyone, and also he thought it was for tomorrow. So we had to scramble to try and make those while we’re making all the other orders, meanwhile I’m on my second breakdown of the day, but powering through.
So long story short, my boss is an idiot, and I can’t wait till the end of this month when I will no longer be working here!
