Religion at Work

I got assigned graveyard + weekend shift at a very large company. Despite claiming a need for religious accommodation to avoid having to work these awful hours, HR wants a letter from my place of worship confirming my religious accommodations are warranted. (I don't think this is malicious on their part, more just record keeping for future scheduling). I'm not an active member of any place, nor have I been for a few years, but it was my only way out of ridiculous hours. What's the best option here? Or does anyone know of online resources that could help me out?
