Would you work for less pay if it was a good cause?

I’ve had a really shitty job hunt since last year. Of the 200+ applications I’ve put in only half a dozen have turned into interviews. Recently I’ve gotten the opportunity to work for a NGO that I’ve always wanted to work for. The problem is they’re set like absolutely set on $15/hr which here in NYS has been the minimum wage for a few years already. In other words my specialized skills are not being recognized because again it’s an NGO so to them $15 is the pay rate across the country. With that in mind it’s well above the south states that are still at $7.50. I’m wondering if it’s even worth losing healthcare over a job that won’t be able to afford my rent. It’s $31k Annually. After taxes it’s roughly $22k. My rent alone is $20k. That’s just $2 thousand dollars for the rest of the entire…
