So I work on billboards. The tall ones you may pass in a city or on a highway or maybe even a county highway.
Been doing it for over a year now.
Was in the service industry for ten years prior to this. Management specifically . When covid hit I got out of the service field.
After a year I can do everything. From installing signs by myself. Rebuilding billboards myself. Can climb anything. And walk on anything. I m3an this with literally no exaggeration.
About 30% of these signs are wooden signs . These short wooden signs are supposed to be done from ladders. To walk on the sign a 2×6 is screwed into the back. And you walk along this 2×6 on its side with a 30-80 lb tarp basically.
I make less than 50 k a year. Recieve shipments out of my house, email at all times of the day. Work out of a storage unit.
Constantly follow corporate shot callers wants like salesmen and people who want to please the customers.
Always pushed to do more and more.
They preach safety but ive gone unharnessed in front of everyone and no one cares.
I'm to a point where I don't think they'll find a replacement if I leave. No one that will do the things I've done.
Should I jump ship? Or use my leverage and try to up my wages?
