Hey guys, not sure how confusing my title is so bare with me.
I got a job back in November as an Assistant editor for $1800 a week 10 hours a day, equating to $36 an hour. But when I actually started filling out time cards, it showed that I was scheduled for 12 hours at $30 an hour. Told my post supervisor about it and also said that I am only willing to work 10 hours at $36 an hour since that is what I agreed upon in my start paperwork. Post supervisor was fine with it and just told me to do in my time card accordingly for 12 hours but cool to work 10.
For me, it sounded like a plan, cause I'm not losing or gaining money from it and not working extra than I am supposed to. Also, if I did actually work 12, I was cool to clock in 14 hours for more over time.
Obviously I'm sure no one wanted to change it in the system cause it was easier for me to just jazz it up on my end (with approval of course), but it got me thinking if there is any underlying side effects to this. If I make the same amount of money per week, it doesn't really matter how my hourly looks right?
It was a great job by the way. No problems with it, just a thought for future endeavors!
Thanks Reddit.
