class warfare in housing is very real

I'm a service employee who lives in a neighborhood that isn't gentrified yet. There is/was a bunch of studio apartments at the end of my street that actually might've not been too far out of my budget. Some developer bought them in May, and is definitely working on prepping the 2 buildings for demolition. I have less than no doubt they'll build something new and charge double. So that's what I get to look at every day. It's a constant reminder of my living situation (I rent a bedroom in this lady's house) and how actually tenting an apartment seems like it'll be impossible for the rest of time
