I'm in Ireland and I came back after being off work for a month for my wedding/honeymoon. First day back in the office and my supervisor, who I knew had a week left with us before moving to another department, wanted to do some training on a few things.
Our manager basically asks me will I take over from supervisor when he leaves until the maternity leave person is back. That's about 6 months all going to plan. I asked was there a raise to go with it, and there is. So I said I'd do that. Department head sets up the contract and sends it for approval, then she leaves for a new job.
New department head tells me my contract is back at the first stage and she'll get back to me with an update.
2 Months go by and I'm told today my supervisor's job didn't actually exist so I won't be getting a promotion. I've been doing the work and training to take on more especially the past few weeks. Turns out the department head knew this a month ago and never told me.
