My employer has an annoying habit of bouncing payroll checks. Hasn’t happened to me in a couple of years but last week I took it to my bank 2 hours after receiving it and received notification the next day that it was returned. Now I’m at their mercy when they get around to cutting a replacement check. What are they liable for in this scenario? For reference: I am in CA ; amount of check was less than $200.
