Boss “voluntold” me to work a 9 hour shift out of town…

I sell cell phones. Part of our company has a team of people that go to different events and act as a mobile base of sorts where they sell at these events. I am not part of this team. Boss texts all of us earlier today with a picture of about ten days with ten shifts, which only 4 are highlighted, saying he needs volunteers or he will “voluntell” us what to work for some events out of town. I don’t jump because I don’t like traveling and I’m part time, completely comfortable where I am without having to work 12 hour days. A few of my coworkers take the highlighted shifts.

However, my boss then sends a picture of our revised schedule and adds me on a 10-7 shift (not including drive time because the event is an hour and a half away) on a day that was not highlighted. I ask him what gives, and he says that the highlighted days were just “increased hours” days but all the days (including the not highlighted ones) were all required. I told him I wish I would have known that so I could have picked a better shift, but there was no response to that.

I’m frustrated because I didn’t sign up to work a giant shift out of town in a position where I’ll have none of my other coworkers that I’m comfortable with, but it feels like I straight up got “voluntold”. Am I just being a baby about it?
