Antiwork

Fired over the first mistake.

You finally leave a job you can't stand after 2 years working there. (Yes, only two. Whatever.) Go a month and a half of applying, making calls, trying to find something. Money is drying up, you moved across town in that time, and you're getting desperate for Whatever you can. Take a job at a Gas station nearby. Not a lot of money but it's something. ($13/hr 5 days a week.) Work there for a week and a half. Everything is going great. Coworkers are nice, your manager is a hard worker like you and lovely to talk to, the customers know and make jokes with you. It's actually an amazing job save for the pay. Lots of customers come in one afternoon. Office phone rings while you're cashing people out. Coworker goes to answer and hands it to you 3 minutes later. You're so busy you don't recognize everything…

Lots of customers come in one afternoon. Office phone rings while you're cashing people out. Coworker goes to answer and hands it to you 3 minutes later.

You're so busy you don't recognize everything you're doing is participating in a scam call. Guy is convincing and you don't even think to ask questions.

$500 maybe gone from the company before you realized what happened. You're not entirely sure because a few steps in you realize what's happening and hang up.

Next day the manager pulls you aside and very gently explains “Yes, the money is gone. Unfortunately we have to let you go”.

This was the first mistake. Your Coworkers and even manager were singing your praises not the day before because you always try your hardest to get things perfect.

Too bad. Out of work again. Money is all dried up.

This was me just today. July 12th 2022 at 2:15 PM. It was an accident…

I don't know what to do now…I have no money at all. I'm almost out of gas in my car. My entire psyche is so shredded I feel as though I'm falling to pieces.

What am I supposed to do? How am I supposed to live like this? How is anyone?
