Coming in from another (now deleted) thread on the subject, and jesus fucking christ. This subreddit has been increasingly overflowing with 4channers, outright right wingers, and every other sort of bootlicker under the sun for the last half year. And every time someone tries to bring the point up, the mods simply yeet the respective posts into the void, and the subreddit continues being filled with bigots, per the usual.
Deleting discussions of bigotry does nothing but cover for bigots. Y'all seem to believe that if you just delete every post on the subject you can keep your subreddit shiny and clean, but you can't even commit to keeping up the appearance of a leftist subreddit. Right now one of the top posts on this sub is a right winger claiming they've been “converted” on economic issues, while admitting they would still be considered right wing. What does that contribute to this subreddit? What does it do except embolden right wingers who think their bigotry is welcome here as long as they believe in some vague notion of workers' rights? Meanwhile, any attempt by marginalized people at discussion of the (apparently moderator sanctioned) influx of vaguely bigots into this subreddit is removed.
Y'all have proven, time and again, that you cannot keep up with the rampant bigotry in this subreddit. You do not have the capacity. But on top of that, you do not even let us discuss the bigotry. Right wing gun nuts can trend their way to the front page; yeah, that's fine! We definitely don't care about right wingers being allowed to proliferate in the sub. But marginalized people asking members of the subreddit to maybe self-analyze a bit and start dealing with their bigot problem? No, we can't have that. Too… what, divisive? Unseemly? You tell me.
You have a bigotry problem. Get it into your thick goddamn skulls. And as long as you have a bigotry problem, marginalized people have the right to be vocally upset about said bigotry problem.
