Was told I have to work despite being exposed to Covid

So I am a Fire Alarm inspector, we test fire alarm systems to make sure every device works as intended. This is a 2 man job and with how we work recently we are constantly around each other. So this all starts Monday night when my coworker tells my manager his daughter has tested positive for Covid with an at home test. So I am a Fire Alarm inspector, we test fire alarm systems to make sure every device works as intended. This is a 2 man job and with how we work recently we are constantly around each other.

So this all starts Monday night when my coworker tells my manager his daughter has tested positive for Covid with an at home test. He asked what should be done and according to my manager he has to go to work since he has no PTO or sick days left. So he comes to work and tells me what's going on and my coworker says that he had no choice. It took all day to convince my manager that my coworker should be home. So my schedule get cleared for the next day and so does my coworkers so he can quarantine, I assume that I'll be getting a call about my schedule at some point before the end of the work day for my manager. We started working at 6 AM while he starts at 9 AM. After 5 PM I hear nothing so I assume I'm not working the next day since I more than likely have been exposed to Covid.

I wake up the next day with no missed calls and no text messages or emails about work. At 10 AM, 4 hours after our start time, asking if I'm taking the day off and that I should call my manager. I then call my coworker and ask how they're feeling and they're extremely sick and were taking their at home test. The test says it's positive so I call my manager and tell him I'm going to quarantine myself as per CDC guidelines. I get told that an at home test is not a “real” covid test and that we'll have to wait until my coworker gets a “real” covid test. So since I have no sick days or PTO left then I need to go to work as a 3rd man, remember we work in 2 man teams so I'll just be tacked on as a 3rd man in the team.

At this point I just refused to go to work and am now am self quarantined. My manager has been calling and texting me since I told him that I'm not coming and I'm assuming I'm being fired. Honestly my anxiety is extremely high and this is mostly to vent this out of my chest but I am extremely mad and tired and I think I actually have covid. I have a very persistent cough and considering me and my coworker have been working together for over 6 months now means he was more than likely contagious for a while and we are just getting started on the sickness.

Idk what to do at this point, imma be focusing on my health but I bet I won't have a job after this.
