So my coworker got pulled into the office.

And Im wondering what you all think about this. So the owner of the business and the COO pulled a coworker of mine into the office for a “write up” concerning his attitude as of late. He's burned out, has grown to hate the work and lately has been a bit more loose lipped about working conditions and pay to the other employees he works with, but can't leave at the moment due to his current living situation. Here's my issue and I hope I'm right to be suspicious. As stated, the owner and the COO conducted this meeting, my coworkers department supervisor was NOT present or contacted, the “write up” was issued and the explanation given for the write up included some unrelated things that happened months ago that the department supervisor had already addressed with the coworker. Obviously the over bosses can do as they please but I…

Here's my issue and I hope I'm right to be suspicious.
