“Tell him he doesn’t have an option”

Long story short I work as a handy man in a fairly busy commercial building. The hours can be demanding at times but as like any other OT it’s optional. Today my coworker said I had to stay late for a group of guys that were working on a floor, when I told him no that I couldn’t because I had things to do outside of work he called my boss and my boss told him to tell me “I don’t have an option”. I told my coworker I’ll only stay an hour then I’m leaving, I ended up staying 2h 30mins which might not seem like a lot but I rarely have a problem with staying late I’ll most likely say yes to the ot. What really got me is that my boss said I didn’t have an option. Is this something to go to the union about?
