So here’s a little background.
I got hired for a small part time job at a daycare this summer so I could make a little bit of money before I get back to teaching in the fall. About a week into the job I asked if I could receive a larger shirt (as the one they gave me was tight on me) and she basically responded “sorry, we expect or employees to be in a specific shape and you will have to continue to wear what we have given you”. I found this a bit offending since she never mentioned that their was a certain physical appearance that must be required of me, and basically shamed me. In response, I sent a text saying I’d be putting my 2 weeks in and she responded saying along the lines of “you don’t have to come in again since I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable. Sorry for upsetting you and you will still receive your next paycheck”.
Fast forward to today and received this paycheck.
Net pay: 0.00
Gross Earnings: 130.00
Withholding-
Fed income tax: 120.05
Social Security: 8.06
Medicare: 1.89
So my question, is this something that is normal or do you think this is worth mentioning with my former employer? I’ve never ran into this before and feel like I could be getting screwed potentially.
