Does anyone have advice or just general details of the mechanics of FMLA – who qualifies, how to qualify, etc? HR can’t be trusted to give me correct information as we have competing priorities in this case – it would be fully paid through accrued sick days that would otherwise never be paid out. Has anyone used this as an opportunity to deal with anxiety and depression? Do I need a doctor’s note? I’m not currently seeing a therapist but are they the ones that would “approve” FMLA to deal with mental health issues or is it ultimately up to HR? Also, who determines the time period, I believe it maxes out at three months but who says how long is needed? Are there regular check-ins with HR? Honestly this process is causing me even more anxiety and stress but I am trying to be positive. Hanging by a thread here.
