I’m getting ready to put my two weeks in at my job because I was lucky enough to be recruited to one that’s going to increase my salary by $16k (!!! If that shows you how underpaid I was).
When I was talking with people who have already left this company, I found out something horrifying: one person was missing hundreds of dollars from their last paycheck, and another spent 1.5 years during his time employed there fighting for the $17,000 he was owed!! A close coworker also let me know she battled for 3 months to get the $3k commission she was owed. I’m fully aware that they’re going to try to screw me out of my money, but how do I prepare for this? Should I preemptively schedule a meeting with our financial guy to walk through my last paycheck? Or do I just wait until it happens and then go on the defense?
