I've been at my current job going on 2 years, I'm the only full time in office employee. I spoke with someone in my corporate office and they let me know they'd be interested in promoting me in the near future, I was so excited and went home told my husband I may be getting promoted soon.
Today someone from corporate stopped by and brought it up in front of my boss, she was appalled and said there's no point (because she doesn't want me taking away any of her responsibilities).
After he leaves she then apologizes for me saying I'm just so good at my current job, what's the point of being promoted.
So I'm currently browsing for jobs, unfortunately not much in my area that pays well. Wish me luck!
