So I just started my first side job at a dispensary making minimum wage with a 50 cents bonus per hour. We count up the registers (the amount of money bro) and the products, sometimes you're in the plus, sometimes negative. Apparently when you have a total negative balance at the end of the month, they take double that amount from your bonus. There are of course rules about not being able to take it off your minimum wage but it's still feels ethically dubious. The free lawyer i consulted has said there's not legal precedent about this but that it's also weird.
To count up all the cash at the end and knowing they make a profit of at least a million, is just disgusting to me. I was becoming more and more anti-work on this sub and in general, and this is just frustrating. I like the work a lot, and the colleagues, but have recently found out two of the three most fun ones are leaving. I only need to work half an year until I graduate and already have a good job lined up, and am wondering if i should just suck it up and take the time in the service industry as a learning experience and learning to live at my means, but it's like 10 euro an hour, although it's the closest to my house I'd want to do (beside the sex shop haha) by my house and fun. If anyone has any ideas I'm all ears. But I also wanted to share this pretty screwed up situation. I don't want to work but have to and I hate it.
