I know people are going to be like “just don't feel guilty they wouldn't feel that guilty about firing you” and while that's true it doesn't really help me. I feel guilty no matter what I do. I know I'm going to fuck over my coworkers and manager instead of my company by resigning because we're very short staffed (again.) But I just can't work there anymore. I've never quit a job with 2 weeks notice before, and I don't know what to tell my manager about why I'm leaving that doesn't make me sound like a selfish asshole. I work in a very small kitchen in a rural nursing home, people gossip quite a lot and I know I'm going to get a lot of shit for it. I just need some pointers in being able to stand up for myself without going scorched earth.
