-Meeting with high-expectation, low-reality management after they’ve realised that I can’t be arsed to fulfil beyond my contractual obligations since they want to operate unrealistically lean aka understaffed. I’ve already lost 2 juniors because management refused to pay them them fair salary- Me: Moving forward, you need me to do overtime? CEO: Yes. Me: Ok, so overtime hours will be based on my hourly pay? CFO: But according to law, you’re not entitled to overtime so you won’t be getting paid extra. Me: Actually according to the law (Australian FairWorks award, think of it as union agreement), I am entitled to 2X hourly pay for the first 2 overtime hours and 3X for subsequent OT hours. Also according to the law, I can decline your OT request if it deemed unreasonable. CFO: -couldn’t think of another bullshit- CEO: So could you still do OT with 1X hourly rate? Me: Nope,…

Me: Moving forward, you need me to do overtime?

CFO: -couldn’t think of another bullshit-

CEO: So could you still do OT with 1X hourly rate?

Me: Nope, 2X & 3X as per the law since CFO brought that up.

COO: But our productivity (their bonus) will take a hit. Could you help us out?

Me: If you help me, then I’ll help you. Otherwise, it is beyond my control (aka it’s a YOU problem)

COO: Surely you understand that we’re trying to run a business here

Me: I sure do (understand that it’s not my problem that you guys want to underpay everyone) hence why I’d only do OT on the latest terms (fuck you, pay me). Let me know by EOB on what’s your decision. Thanks.
