Commission Carpentry

I’ve followed this sub for some time, it is extremely interesting to hear everyone’s stories about awful jobs and work experiences. I’ve been looking for a new job recently and I routinely come across quite a few jobs that are based in carpentry (such as building decks, installing doors, etc.) that don’t have base pays, but instead post possible salaries of $100,000+ “for the right person”. It smells of big fat scams, but was curious if anyone had any experiences working for companies that pay in similar fashion.
