Work has us working 12 hour shifts, 4 days a week, and keeps telling us we have to work Friday one day in advance, is this legal?

They change our schedule like this every few months, we work 12 hour shifts 4 days a week with the promise of not having to work Fridays. They then come up to us and tell us we have to work that Friday (a day before that Friday). When we tell our supervisor that we won't be able to come in, and that it is too short of notice, they threaten to take our pay down/move us to another area where it pays less. And in extreme cases they threaten to fire us.
