Amazon recruiter refuses to answer culture questions?

Does Amazon choose odd hills to die on? About a week ago, a recruiter called me and we had a pleasant chat. Strangely enough, they refused 3 times to answer my question about what Amazon does to promote gender diversity. I assumed they needed to do more research and get back to me. They called me a week later, and when I said I needed something, anything, about gender diversity at Amazon, before moving forward in the process, they doubled down by insisting I spend 1.5 hours on their online assessment before they can give any information. I've never encountered this before and didn't know if recruiters at Amazon are required by policy to not comment on company culture?
