First job at Quiznos- manager throws cleaning supplies at me

I remember being a 16 year old kid who needed a job to save money for a vehicle and to have money for going out with friends. My father always pushed me to be responsible and work regardless of my school load- so I got a job at a Quiznos sandwich shop. This store was owned by a franchisee couple named Evelyn and Bob. They were both very rude, short people but I needed a job and thought it wouldn’t be TOO bad. One night I was working my first closing shift EVER and got asked to mop the floors, clean the bathrooms and mop in there as well.

I wanted to do a good job so I ended up asking Bob what I would need to use to clean the bathroom.
“Are you seriously asking me this?” He asked, super annoyed.

“I’ve never cleaned the bathrooms here before and don’t know which cleaning products are specific to this task.” I explained.

Bob was standing next to the metal wire frame rack of cleaning products during this exchange. He grabbed a bottle of fabuloso, towels, and a bucket and threw the items at me so hard the fabuloso bottle busted open causing the liquid to go everywhere. I was so upset (obviously) and was scared to say anything out of fear he would react the same way or worse.

I did clean the bathroom with the only other cleaning solution I could find since the fabuloso had exploded. My father picked me up from work that night and I told him what had happened- he turned the car around, went inside and told Bob I wouldn’t be working for a raging asshole like him, and walked out. That car ride home my dad explained to me to never put up with bullshit from my employers, ever. And I never have to this day.

I’m sure there are other managers just like Bob out there. I feel for all the teens who feel they have to put up with bullshit from shitty managers..
