I’m entry level and being asked to choose between my job or training a new employee. No one trained me and my bosses don’t know how to do my job.

I'm literally not going to be able to sleep tonight. I have been working for a mental health company, pulling video of terrible events from all our sites. I received the training of here is the system good luck and a sign in. I taught myself every floor of 15 facilities virtually. I have had to learn to blur video by YouTube videos. I have had to learn 3 camera systems, by myself and how to operate them. Recently a new system was installed, when I asked i.t. for training they said the guy who installed it quit. I have put in 120 i.t. request to keep cameras working. My bosses announced six months ago they were looking to hire a second video editor.

I specifically asked for a more senior role where I would take over training and delighting the new employee to ensure all request would get done as I have been doing solo for two year in prep for them hiring a new employee. I figured with two years of experience they would be ok moving me up as I'm the only one in the company doing what I do. But was told that would not be possible.

Now that they have hired someone I have expressed I have no interest in doing the training as none was provided and it was all on the job training. I have stated that I'm entry level at entry level pay 20.50 an hour with a 2 year degree “but bachelors perfered on the job description.

I work remotely and my boss often cancels our once a week meeting because he has nothing for me that I'm not already performing. Now I've been formally asked to respond to this email

“To summarize our conversation regarding training the new Compliance video technician, you feel that this would not be an easy task and an additional duty that you would not be willing to complete at this time.”

I'm 99 percent sure I'm getting fired if I say no and if I say yes chances are I'll be training someone getting paid more than me that won't know how to do the job at all.

We have received so many request lately that I'm being ask to keep track of and prioritize over 40-50 items at once on an excell sheet I have to fill out daily. It is overwhelming already I don't have the capacity to take on answering all the questions this new employee is going to have.
I have stated my job description doesn't have any verbage of training or delegating. But at the end it does say “Other duties as assigned by supervisory and/or administrative support.”

What do I do? My bills are able to be paid for the next 3 months if I need to find another job.

Worst part is I absolutely love my job. Work from home. 9.0 hours of PTO per period. I have been able to work alone to last two years and that has been wonderful. Now I'm very scared or this change and what I'm being ask to do for no additional pay.

I also put in formally to hr for a pay increase and it was denied also.
