So I just got fired today because I wouldn’t take shit from an extremely passive aggressive, condescending coworker. I work in IT and 3 people on the team were on vacation leaving just the two of us, and he didn’t want to help me with anything even though I was still technically in training. He’s been with the company for 5 years and every time I Would ask him for help he would be all “hmmmm what do we think the problem is?” or “what did you find on google?” and finally I fucking snapped and wrote back “Really?! I bet you think you’re being super helpful and that’s sad” and then tried to call our manager several times during the 7 remaining hours of my ten hour shift, and ended up just messaging him saying that working 40 hours in office and 10 at home per week is not the hybrid job I was promised and that I’m not here to play games with name all day and that if this makes me a bad fit then let me know now and he finally replied the following Monday (4 days ago) that I could start coming to the office for just two days and he would talk to Bitchboy. And then today I got called into the office of the owner and told that I wasn’t a good fit. No details, just not a good fit but they did give me a month of severance.
But what the fuck? Why do certain people get away with such bullshit? Bitchboy probably makes double what I make and I’m just supposed to take his crap? Whatever happened to working as a team and dealing with conflict?
Maybe it’s me. Maybe I struggle with authority. Maybe I’m just not cut out for office bullshit. I hate office politics and I don’t get caught up in that trash. I hate how I just have to take shit with a smile in this world.
