The “someone important is coming to evaluate us soon” scramble.

In every single job I have ever worked, about twice a year, we’d have someone from corporate that was apparently a big name fly into the area, and then pop into our workplace to see how things were going. The store managers would be stressing to make sure everything is perfect and clean, and employees would work overtime to make the store immaculate, all so that John Corporate who doesn’t even live in the area can see that we’re doing a “good job.” My thing is – whyyy do we do this for these fuckers? Like I get that it’s important to the store managers to get good reviews, and I don’t fault them for that. But if corporate is the one that decides to cut our hours and then not hire anyone new, why shouldn’t they see the chaos they’ve caused? I feel like fucking SpongeBob and patrick trying…

Krabs’ house of paint before he comes home. Like?? I feel like a babysitter for uptight corporate, mopping the store to make sure their $100 shoes don’t get dirty.
