I worked as an admin in my current firm before taking a health related long leave which I’m currently in. My HR contacted me and let me know that they have an opening for me in HR if I’m interested. I am very interested because Ive done major HR certifications but haven’t been able to work in HR yet. I want to build my career in it.
My question is, is it ok to ask for higher pay if I accept the other position? I was planning on looking for another higher paying job anyway before this offer came in. I’m just talking $2 more per hour. My current job is entry level and this HR role is also entry level. Im not very confrontational and I don’t want to lose this opportunity by doing so. Any advice how to deal with this is helpful.
