My fiancé and I tested positive for COVID yesterday. We just moved across our state for school and are struggling financially. He works at a senior living community and cannot miss work, because it means we won’t be able to pay for our rent or buy food. We already cannot afford to pay the rent in full for August. We eat our food until there is not a single bite of it left in our apartment. How fucked up is it that he has to go to work while sick and suffer in addition to possibly getting other people sick just so we can afford to pay HALF of our rent or buy food? How fucked up is this system?
