Since I've been working here we have used a finger print punch system. Starting in August the only way for us to clock in will be to use an app. They require us to have a smartphone and the app uses our location data to decide whether or not we can clock in.
I've asked multiple times to different management whether or not the app will/can track our location in the background and no one has given me a straight answer. The app in question is HCMtoGo.
Does anyone here have any experience with a system like this? How much data are they gonna be scraping from me? Will they be able to check whether I'm at the doctors if I call out sick?
I really dont like the idea of my employer being able to check my location. But I do need to continue to be employed.
