Got a job working at a startup for double what I was making at the time. Thought it was great until I realized I was not doing the job I was hired for, but was being pushed into Sales (when I was hired I was told there would be no sales in my role) so, I started looking around for jobs. I found a few things that paid less but would be sufficient, so I decided to bite the bullet. I had things set up for a new job and pit in a notice. The company essentially begged me to stay and promised I would be moved into the role they hired me for. I politely declined the new job offers and stayed at the startup. Fast forward two weeks and I was let go today because they were eliminating the position. So now I'm stuck trying to find a new job, with a kid on the way in 3 weeks, and the company that had offered me a job said their position had been filled since I turned it down.
How am I supposed to find a job and have any time to spend with my newborn? (I was also promised 4 weeks of leave that I will not be getting now)
Feeling depressed and hopeless.
