What’s With the Downvotes?

I have noticed A TON of new posts getting downvoted and I try to counteract that with an upvote and they are immediately voted down again. These aren't weird posts, they are the similar content as the ones that are highly upvoted. It seems clear that there are a lot of people/spam accounts that are making a very calculated effort to repress posts on here.
