I worked a shift 12-7 on Saturday. I had already been struggling mentally on Monday (7/18) and had to call in to see someone. I had two hours left of my shift on Saturday and I was breaking down and texting my family I love them. I openly told my store manager I needed to go and get to a hospital. Store manager doesn't work weekends and no one wanted to come in for the remainder of my shift. I called the owner and he was upset I called him. He was drinking with friends. Told me to shut it down. I ended up doing so and left to get help.
The morning after I get a text from the store manager saying they had to let me go because no one wanted to cover my shift and business had to stop for 2 hours. I guess for $13 an hour, I should have expected this. I only stayed because the tips were really good but the pay was terrible.
