The rolling back of workers rights in the UK (I especially want to know what Americans think!)

I almost didn't post this because i thought i was subverting the subreddit, but of course this is relevant! it's about workers rights and the kinds of politicians and types of law that lead to the guy of misery and anger expressed daily on this here subreddit! We ave had a right wing and extremely corrupt government (not conjecture but fact at this point). They have been caught and tried and (v. occasionnaly) prosecuted, many times. Loads of evidence. They are big business friendly and are in the process of rolling back employment rights here 50, even 100 years. Obviously less restriction = more profit. end of. Our train staff are striking (and our nurses/teachers/post people/solicitors and telecoms staff are about to do the same!) they have just changed the law after 50 years to make it legal to use agnecy staff to break strikes.

And it strikes me that they are basically in the process of creating the nightmare environment that has led to the mass resignation, this subreddit and the massive levels of inequality that you guys have.

an american buddy once joked America was England 2.0, well now england is becoming America 2.0!

I'm often shocked at they way you guys are treated in these posts, these text exchanges etc – casual sackings and unreasonable demands and rules. and now after 50 years of unionisation being a dirty word you are wising up and striking back.

we are moving in the opposite direction, and its heartbreaking.
