How should I go about getting my money back for the uniform? Is there anything I can do about them lying about my pay? Is there a possibility to sue them due to working in an unsafe enviorment? I feel scammed and used. The whole ordeal has just stressed me and my wife out.
Been working at this Chinese food restaurant for over 3 months. On the application and during the interview I was never informed that I would be having to pay for the mandatory t-shirt and hat. They charged me 30$ for it and took it out of my first paycheck. I was told I would be making between 19-26$/hr being a delivery driver with an hourly pay of 8.75$ + tips. I averaged out my pay from the last 3 months and am only making about 13$ an hour. I hardly able to get deliveries and spend 80% of my time doing dishes by hand and cleaning. The place is also absolutely disgusting there is black mold everywhere, no one wears gloves, there is a gas leak, and plumbing problems. I would have quit sooner but I have a newborn son that I need to support and can't afford to be unemployed. Sorry for the rant it just has been extremely stressed.
I currently live in the USA. I'm new to working in the restaurant industry.
I appreciate any advice. I can't do this on my own.
