Hold times are getting ridiculously long, to the point where I’m wasting two hours at a time on one specific service matter.

I just need to vent, is that okay? I work in customer service, and unfortunately for me, I have to rely on other people to get my job done every day. For example, if I needed to get a restriction lifted, I would have to call a support number, tell them the issue, just for them to tell me they can’t help and have to transfer me to a “specialist”, and then I end up waiting on hold listening to the same shitty hold music for OVER 2 HOURS AT A TIME!! And it’s not like I can just hang up and redial, I’ll just get shoved to the back of the call queue. Then I’ve wasted 2 hours. My job also requires me to answer incoming calls, so if I’m on hold for 2 hours, I miss 5-10 calls during that time. I asked why the wait was so…

I asked why the wait was so long, and was told “specialists” are understaffed.

This has been an ongoing issue for the last several months, and it’s only getting worse.

It pisses me off because I know the state of our economy, thanks to this subreddit, and I know there’s no end in sight, and I’m just forced to endure.

I’m losing my patience, and it’s driving me crazy.

That’s all. That’s the rant. Companies treat their employees like shit and it makes everyone else’s lives worse as a result.

I don’t blame the workers for quitting either. Good for them, I hope they’re happier now.
