I work as a detailer at a car dealership. I technically work for a third party contractor, but we abide by the rules of the dealership. Closing time is at 8 PM local time.
Recently, myself and my coworkers are held here past closing time, usually a minimum of half an hour, sometimes longer. I know, that's not a big deal, but it's also a half hour drive one way from work to home and the shift itself is 9 hours long already. They say it's because they are still trying to close out last minute sales, but I'm starting to think they're doing it on purpose to specifically hold us here. It is not hard to sell cars to customers, either they take it or they don't, and they can leave at closing time and finish the sale or pick up the car another day.
