Social media might be bad for your mental health, but it’s great for watching an old job fail in real time

I only made it 6 months at the worst job with the worst business owner I've ever worked for. I needed the money so I didn't quit, but he did me a service by firing me. When I joined this dude claimed the business was expanding because they opened a second location. But all he did was rent a warehouse to move the production part of our job to, while keeping the office duties in the main building. It's not like business was so booming that he could replicate the entire operation in another location like a chain. Of course there was no need to do this and it was something like $10k more in overhead per month, but more buildings = Success, right? The kicker was the second location was a larger building, and it had office space in the front he could've moved to office staff to…..Instead he…

The kicker was the second location was a larger building, and it had office space in the front he could've moved to office staff to…..Instead he used this office space as storage.

Every day he bitched about money, how tight money was, and how much money everyone was costing him. He would nitpick us for little things like how we arranged desktop icons, but wouldn't be there to double-check work or supervise production. If anything was screwed up he'd just yell at us, even if it wasn't our fault.

He uses one Facebook and one Instagram account for both personal and business duties, like all successful businesses do (Sarcasm). I still follow the company, and thought nothing of it when he posted that he sold his big stupid customized pickup truck. But then he made some kind of comment like his family only had one car now and didn't make any kind of comment about being in the market for another car.

Then he made a post asking if anyone wanted to buy a box truck. No specifics, but I think it belonged to the business.

Then came the kicker: He bought or rented a new building for the business and was renovating it. It looked pretty small so I thought he was becoming “successful” by operating out of a third building. But then he made a comment about how the building looks small, but it can hold everything they need.

I was fired and made to feel like his business was failing because of me. But I've been gone almost 2 years and it's still failing without me. I'm not a genius, but it's not hard to see this asshole was his own worst enemy and blaming his own employees all along.

Oh yeah, not one of the 10 employees who worked there when I was there is there anymore. I have no clue how many employees he has now….If he has any left….
