So my boss sat me down at the end of my probation and was telling me I’m doing great and they’ve seen huge improvements since I began running this group, and that I would be getting my wage adjusted accordingly (I also didn’t get an annual adjustment this year because I was still on probation). He said that he hoped the raise helped me live the way and want kept talking it up it up like the wage increase was going to be significant.
The raise was roughly 1/3rd of the inflation rate. I wouldn’t have even been mad about this because they pay me fine, but I was rattled at how much he made it seem like this was a gift.
