Is it really that strange to want two days off after working for five in a row?

I work in retail and was scheduled for five days in a row with only one day off before I am to go back in. I brought up how this seems like a bit much, and kindly asked if in the future, I could have two days off in a row after working five or more consecutive days. Everyone was genuinely baffled by this concept. None of my managers understood my reasoning. One of my coworkers also said I seemed spoiled. Is this really so strange? In my past retail job, people were given two consecutive days off, unless they requested otherwise. I thought this was just the norm.
